It's a......

Healthy GIRL!!!
We are just so grateful and excited! We feel very blessed. I can't wait for Ellie to have a little sister!

Matt showing Ellie her little sister. I love this picture because of her big smile!
Me at 17 weeks....yep, a bit bigger than last time with Ellie! Most of that bump was made by Edy's Ice Cream. :)
And last but not least, here's Matt celebrating the joyous news tonight by watching Star Wars with some friends! :) In his defense, this was planned for a few weeks. :)
P.S. Matt is so proud of his "Decembeard" and will say farewell to it in January! :)

Boy or Girl?

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY where we (hopefully) find out if the baby is a boy or girl! At first, I was sure it's a girl but so many people have been telling me the profile pic looks like a boy so I am not as sure anymore! Either way, we'll be happy. :)

I've caught myself thinking about how this ultrasound went with Ellie (this is the one where we found out she had a heart defect and Down syndrome) and then I feel lots of anxiety. But, I have also felt great comfort and peace from above and am learning to trust in those feelings rather than the fear (which I know for sure doesn't come from above!!!). One thing I do know is that this baby will be so lucky to have Ellie as a sister! And Ellie will be so blessed to have a sibling (and hopefully more later!).

I've been feeling the baby move around a lot in the past week which has been really fun! I can't wait to see him/her and how he/she's doing tomorrow!

Any guesses on girl or boy? Please share!

Something's in the oven...and it's not a bun!

Our family is so excited to announce that another baby will be joining our family in May!!! Everything is going well with the pregnancy so far. I am finally starting to get past the nausea and being tired 24/7! Wahooooooo! We are so grateful for this blessing and look forward to meeting this special spirit.

Falling asleep on the job

Ellie rang Elmo's doorbell til her heart was content! She is really loving books these days and it has been so much fun. Her very favorite book is one I made on Shutterfly that has pictures of our family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents) for each letter of the alphabet. She loves to look at it during church and just about any other time. She gets a huge smile on her face each time she opens the book to the pictures. So proud of her!

Halloween

Ellie went "trick or treating" at Matt's work. She loved touching the candy although she didn't eat any of it! Matt and I totally SCORED because of her! Perks of being a parent!

It's coming!

Halloween will be here soon! What will you be dressed as this year? Ellie is going to put on those famous ruby red slippers and transform into Dorothy. I don't know what Matt and I will dress up as....this is a "problem" for us every year! Any suggestions?

Are Mormons Christian?

I saw a couple news articles this week where a prominent Evangelical Pastor said that Mormons are not Christians. I felt very sad when I read this and just want to take a moment to express my feelings about Jesus Christ. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I love and worship Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer of the world and I know that I can only be saved through Him. He is the Son of God. He suffered and was crucified for the sins of the world, giving each of God’s children the gift of repentance and forgiveness...and resurrection! I am so grateful to Him and hope to one day kneel at His feet and thank Him for all He has done for me.

This is one of my favorite depictions of the Savior. He is looking over Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives saying, "How oft would I have gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens, but ye would not." He is always with us and will protect us if we let Him.
